Writing & Riding Camp, June 21-25, 2010
This extraordinary camp features a an exciting combination of equestrian training and creative writing. Dr. Gloria Nixon-John (author and teacher) and Jeannie Tuzik (equestrian trainer and proprietor of Oak Pointe Stables) team up to a half day of riding and a half day of writing. The camp is held at Oak Pointe Stables in Oxford, and includes a healthy breakfast and lunch daily. Space is limited, and a written application is required.

Drawing and Water Color Painting Camp, June 21-25, 2010
Drawing can be fun and easy. Learn drawing and watercolor techniques and how to draw what you actually see. Make exciting compositions and build your own dynamic visual vocabulary. This workshop helps you draw out and highlight your personal expression. Introductory techniques for the true beginner with emphasis on drawing from observation will be investigated. Shape, line, shading and texture are explored from a variety of approaches in an attempt to find a technique that works for you. All materials are provided.

Acrylic Painting Workshop, June 28-July 2, 2010
Experiment with different ways of using acrylic painting to express yourself creatively! This acrylic painting art workshop is an exciting course which explores different acrylic art materials and techniques including washes, glazes, palette knife, flat color and impasto using both thin and thick acrylic paint. Have a go at using this versatile medium with individual guidance to help you develop skills in painting. All materials are provided.

"The Winning Edge" Sports Training Camp, July 12-16 and July 19-23, 2010
Campers will work with a certified personal trainer and a professional chef to optimize their health and fitness while having fun! The camp is your child’s guide to performance through proper eating and physical training. Kingsbury’s 125 acres of woods, trails, fields and streams, along with the beautiful Justin A. Schwartz center for athletics, provide the perfect venues for cross-training fun and fitness. In addition, campers will learn to prepare and taste-test great pre- and post-event meals for athletes. Winning Edge campers will create personalized journal filled with recipes, meal plans and a customized workout program tailored specifically to their individual needs.

Young Explorers Camp
This two-week camp is offered for 4 year olds through students entering 3rd Grade. Join us for either one week or both weeks. Campers will enjoy arts and crafts, songs, and hands-on activities. Outdoor games and water fun will provide a cool retreat to the summer heat. Special field trips or events will connect to the theme each week with an additional field trip to the water park.
Session 1: "Kingsbury Corral", July 12-16
This country and western theme is sure to give campers an exciting week full of rip-roaring fun! A field trip to Westview Orchards will allow students to get in touch with the country life by picking sweet cherries, touring the farm, and visiting the petting zoo. Country and western themed activities, songs, and crafts throughout the week will reveal the inner cowboy or cowgirl in all campers.
Session 2: "Super Space Explorers", July 19-23
Campers will discover adventure as they reach for the stars! They will enjoy a week exploring the many wonders of outer space. A special assembly from the Detroit Science Center will spark the inner scientist in young campers. Campers will have fun while learning as they participate in space theme activities throughout the week, including creating a model planet, constellations, and a telescope.
