Kingsbury and its surrounding community are like no other in Michigan. With its roots in the heart of hunt country, Kingsbury still enjoys seeing the Metamora Hunt riders and foxhounds going through the campus frequently during the fall and early winter hunt season. Year-round, we enjoy passing riders as well as "carriage" drivers. The neighboring farms and homes support Kingsbury: its events, its causes, and its annual giving requests – even if the families have never had (or been) children at Kingsbury.
Meetings of area groups are always welcome here – either in the conference room or in the Justin Schwartz Center. Many neighbors join Kingsbury families in using the beautiful Kingsbury trails for walking or snowshoeing. Athletic "events" such as the "every Wednesday night" adult basketball games involve lots of neighbors and friends as well as Kingsbury parents and alumni.
We are 10 minutes from Oxford and Dryden, 15 minutes from Almont and Lake Orion and 20 minutes from Rochester, Romeo and Lapeer – yet the road less traveled leads to a place that is well worth the journey.
