Nola Whetstone

Philosophy

On Her Profession

I believe that all children are capable of learning. Children learn best in an open, safe, interactive environment. My job as a teacher is to prepare the student for a place in our culture and the global society. I believe that a teacher is also responsible for teaching children how to learn so that they may be life long, interested learners.

On Kingsbury

Teaching at Kingsbury Country Day School gives me the opportunity to grow as a teacher and a student. I learn every day from the staff and students, as I teach. The school also offers me a chance to bring together both cultural and academics with the focus on the student as a whole learner, within the classroom and outside in the community and world.

On Kingsbury Kids

I notice a difference in the students at Kingsbury Country Day School. They are interested, well rounded individuals who seem to genuinely care for each other and their environment. The kindness and enthusiasm that they extend to each other, the staff, and their learning make me feel very excited to come to school and share my interests and knowledge with them.
