I have always believed that the best way to learn new concepts is to have to teach them to someone else. I like to think of the "depth versus breadth" philosophy when it comes to helping students truly understand what they are learning and not just memorizing concepts to succeed. I think it is wonderful to see older students working with younger students and I believe that they both learn so much with this interaction. I also feel that teaching new concepts can be exciting and challenging when the curriculum is put together in such a way that teachers in all subject areas work together to design lessons that encompass a holistic view of the world.
I had a wonderful experience teaching at Kingsbury for five years before my daughter was born. My son attended the lower school and I taught Social Studies and Science at the time. I know many of the teachers who are still there and look forward to spending time with them again and meeting the other staff members. I especially look forward to working with the families that bring their children to this unique and special campus. It is a wonderful place to work and I look forward to coming back and making Kingsbury my "home base" once again!
