The main goals are to provide a variety of resources that complement and expand upon curriculum materials used in the classroom; to promote the best possible use of the collection; to provide an opportunity for students to learn how to use the library through authentic experiences and library classes; and to instill a love and excitement for reading. It is a joy for me to be able to share the excitement of their mastery of reading. I love being the one that welcomes them into the magical world of knowledge that come from reading. Books are the keys that open doors to opportunity and adventure.
I consider the entire Kingsbury community, which includes students, parents, teachers, administrators, board members, bus drivers, office personnel, grounds and maintenance crews, an extension of my own family. When my children attended school here, I referred to their teachers as their 'other mothers' because they genuinely and deeply cared about their well-being (and still do years later). The teachers go above and beyond the call of duty because to them, it’s the students who matter most.
We (the faculty) are always glad to hear news of students who have, at one time, passed through these halls. They are never forgotten. Kingsbury is a great place to grow up. Relationships and friendships continue long after a student graduates. To be called a "Kingsbury Kid" is an honor.
