Philosophy

On Her Profession

Taking care of the earth is a process of learning that begins with getting to know and enjoy the “natural” world. When we appreciate and care about our own familiar environment, this carries over into our relationship with the larger environment. Through hands-on involvement with nature, children begin to understand the connections of all living and non-living things, or how the environment works and how humans are part of it.

On Kingsbury

Kingsbury is a community; supportive and humane. It is a group of kids, parents, staff and friends all working together. We may be different and have our differences, but as a community we have the strength of our caring and commitment to make things work. Also, as a community, we have a strong awareness of our connection to our environment, our “natural” community.

On Kingsbury Kids

Kingsbury Kids have special opportunities:

  • To be part of a relatively small student body where everyone's question can be asked and answered, everyone can participate in sports and other activities, everyone can have a voice in class sharing, in assemblies, in all school functions
  • To learn in a beautiful setting and have direct and daily contact with it
  • To be part of a strong community that provides support, social interactions and learning experiences with people of different ages and backgrounds.
