Philosophy

On Her Profession

Teaching starts from the heart. A great teacher welcomes each student into her classroom with enthusiasm, care, and respect for each student’s unique abilities. I believe a teacher’s job is to provide the students with tools and strategies that will help them be successful. My hope for my students are to leave the classroom as well-rounded, responsible, and caring individuals.

Kingsbury is a perfect fit for me. It is a nurturing environment where I can grow as a teacher as well as foster my love of science.

Bio

Teaching has always been my passion. I earned a degree in Integrated Science from Grand Valley State University as well as Elementary Education and Spanish minors. I graduated with honors and was awarded the 2007 Integrated Science Student of the Year. In October 2007, I published an article in a national science teacher’s journal. Prior to working at Kingsbury, I have experience teaching in a first and fifth grade setting.
